Challenge
Contra Farms builds indoor grow chambers: trays of seed pods that move from germination to grow, under LED shelves, with a water pump, nutrient dosing and a fan. The hardware was full of sensors, but the readings stayed inside the box. A grower could not see from the sofa that pH had drifted, or that a shelf light was still on at midnight. Changing a setting meant standing next to the machine. And Contra Farms had no single view of the chambers across homes, cafés, schools and commercial farms.
What we did
System architecture: hardware sensors → native iOS IoT library → Flutter app → cloud API and database → admin panel and Contra AI, with commands flowing back to the machine's actuators (LED shelf lights, water pump and dosing, fan and misting).
Recognition
  • •Growers see their chamber's readings live on their phone and are alerted when something drifts out of range.
  • •Lights, pump, dosing and fan are changed remotely, and each command is confirmed back in the app in sub-250ms.
  • •A new grow chamber goes from box to online with one QR scan.
  • •Contra AI gives growers plain suggestions they can apply with one tap, improving crop yield and consistency.
  • •Contra Farms runs every device, farm, alert and firmware update from one centralized admin panel.
